Looking at his postseason numbers, Allen finished with a 2-1-1 record and a GAA of 1.89. From the few games Allen started, he also added a .935 save percentage. The backstop has played in a total of 289 NHL career games. He was chosen 34th overall by the organization back in 2008.
Marc Bergevin used the third-round pick from the Washington Capitals in the Ilya Kovalchuk trade and the seventh-round pick from Chicago which the team acquired when they traded Andrew Shaw. In a salary dump deal for St. Louis, Jake Allen will serve as the backup to Carey Price.
