The Utah Grizzlies announced on Monday that rookie Matt Hover has signed for the 2020-21 season. Hoover, coming off of four seasons at Canisius College, was named to the 2019-2020 All Atlantic Hockey second team after an outstanding senior year, scoring 15 goals and 17 assists. Overall, for his college career, Hoover had a total of 47 goals and 52 assists. Prior to his tenure at school, Hoover played one season for the Nanaimo Clippers, a Junior A team, and had 38 goals and 43 assists in 57 games played.
Hoover, who hails from Peoria, Illinois, started playing hockey in Canada with the Brantford 99ers U15 and U16 AAA. Hoover sounds like a really exciting player to watch and I’m looking forward to see what he can do for the Utah Grizzlies.
