Florida Everblades Agree To Deal With Defensemen Stephen Baylis

On Tuesday September 22nd, the Florida Everblades announced the signing of Canadian forward Stephen Baylis. The two sides agreed to terms on a standard player contract for the upcoming season. This will be Baylis’ first season with the Everblades hockey club.

Baylis played professionally for the first time last season with the Ontario Reign. He did so in the AHL and with the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL. During his time with these two teams, Baylis recorded three goals along with 10 assists for 13 points. He did so in 48 games.

Prior to making the jump pro, Baylis spent four seasons in the NCAA with the Bowling Green State Falcons. During his tenure with the team, Baylis tallied 89 points on 29 goals along with 60 assists. During his senior year, the forward was named captain for 2018-19.

Before Baylis committed to college, the native of Ottawa, Ontario also spent time in the CCHL. During his four seasons in the league, Baylis played for Carleton Place where the left-handed shooter would amass 184 points. During his tenure with the Canadians, Baylis won the CCHL Championship in both 2013-14 and 2014-15. As well, in 2014-15, Baylis, 26-years-old, was named to the CCHL First All-Star Team. Not only that, but the winger was presented the Most Valuable Player Award.
