On Tuesday December 1st, Indy Fuel announced the re-signing of American defensemen Keoni Texeira. The two sides agreed to terms on a standard player contract for the upcoming season.
Texeira re-joins the Indy Fuel after skating last season in 69 games. In 2019-20, he recorded four goals along with 27 assists which made for 31 points. He also completed the year tied for second in the league in power-play assists.
For Texeira, it’s his third year of pro as well as his second season with the Indy Fuel. Thus far into his career, the lefty has recorded 11 goals along with 66 assists in 129 games. As well, he adds 106 penalty minutes.
Prior to making the jump pro, the 23-year-old spent five seasons playing in the WHL with the Portland Winterhawks. Currently, the Fontana native is sitting in second on Portland’s all-time games played list. During his five years with the hockey club, Texeira amassed 143 points, scoring 39 goals along with 104 assists.
As well, he added 215 penalty minutes. Texeira also served as captain of the Portland Winterhawks in 2017-18.
