Defensemen Collin Saccoman Agrees To Deal With Rapid City Rush

On Thursday October 1st, the Rapid City Rush announced the signing of American defenseman Collin Saccoman. The two sides agreed on a standard player contract for the upcoming season. Saccoman will join the organization following the conclusion of his senior season. Currently, the rookie is studying at Lake Superior State University.

Saccoman, who stands at six-foot-one and weighs 196 pounds, played four seasons of collegiate hockey with the Lake Superior Lakers in the NCAA. During the tenure he spent there, Saccoman recorded 20 goals along with 36 assists through 117 games. In 2019-20, he served as team captain and recorded six goals and nine assists in 17 games.

The native of Stillwater, Minnesota had a career year in 2018-19. He did so playing 37 games, recording 25 points which tied him for fourth in team scoring. Prior to committing to college, Saccoman played junior hockey in the USHL for the Waterloo Black Hawks.

Lake Superior Lakers Athletics

During the 2015-16 campaign, Saccoman recorded four goals along with eight assists through 50 games played. He also added 102 penalty minutes. Saccoman, 23-years-old, helped the Waterloo Black Hawks reach the Clark Cup playoffs. In doing so, he skated in nine games, having tallied a single goal.

The Rush will look to harness his offensive potential and defensive competitiveness throughout his rookie season. As recent signings, Saccoman joins Griffin Luce, Kyle Froese, Hayden Lavigne, Gary Haden and Jake Wahlin. The 2020-21 season is slated to begin on the fourth of December.
