The Adirondack Thunder snapped a two-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon as they defeated the Worcester Railers by a score of a 4-1. Today’s win gives Adirondack a 4-2-0-1 record against the Railers this season. Adirondack has also recorded a point in their last four games against Worcester.
Adirondack entered Sunday’s game with the second-lowest goals in the second period among ECHL teams. The Thunder would end up boosting those numbers as Robbie Payne would feed Hayden Verbeek who was right in front of the net to give the Thunder a 1-0 lead early in the second period. However, Adirondack has had a problem keeping leads lately and Barry Almeida would score for Worcester less than five minutes later to tie the game up at one.
Before the period was over, Alex Carrier and Ross Olsson would drop the gloves at the 10:37 mark of the period. Things would really start to boil over at the 17:09 mark when Kelly Summers delivered a knee-to-knee hit on Barry Almeida and would have to respond as Mike Cornell would drop the gloves first and go after Summers. Cornell would get a two, five and a ten during that altercation.
Adirondack would come alive in the third period as Blake Thompson would take a one-timer from Hayden Verbeek and put it past Jakub Skarek to make it a 2-1 game. James Henry would add an insurance marker about seven minutes later to give the Thunder a 3-1 lead. Ryan Walker would hit the empty net with a little under two minutes left to seal the deal for the Adirondack Thunder.
Eamon McAdam would pick up his first win in six starts made after being pulled on Thursday, a game in which he gave up five goals on 14 shots in a loss to Brampton. This of course came after getting the nod in back-to-back starts for Adirondack.

Adirondack will begin a busy American Thanksgiving week on Wednesday as they welcome their first non-conference opponent in the Indy Fuel to Cool Insuring Arena before welcoming Brampton to Glens Falls for games on Friday and Saturday. The weekend will then be concluded with a 4:00pm game on Sunday afternoon in Brampton. As much as Alex Loh seems to love playing McAdam in back-to-back games, one would like to think that Chris Nell will see an appearance between the pipes before the weekend is over.
