The Adirondack Thunder announced on Thursday that they have re-signed defensemen Charlie Curti. Curti becomes the third re-signing by the Thunder and first blue-liner to be locked up for the 2020-21 season.
Thunder Lock Up First Blue-Liner
Curti was easily the best defensemen for Adirondack last season in his rookie year out of Yale University. In 56 games, he racked up 11 goals and 20 assists for 31 points. During his four years at school, Curti had a total of 11 goals in 110 games with the Yale Bulldogs.
It comes as no surprise that with the loss of Michael Sdao, Curti could easily step up as a first pairing defensemen. There’s a lot to like about the 24-year-old defensemen. He has a solid shot from the point and is not only a guy who’s gonna provide offence for you, but plays a very solid two-way game. It will be interesting to see if Adirondack decides to find a long-term partner for Curti who spent last season having multiple defensive partners, among the list including Kelly Summers.
