Adirondack Thunder Announce 2019-2020 Season-Ending Roster

The Adirondack Thunder have announced their season-ending rosters which consists of 19 players. It comes as no surprise that this list is the same list that was released just under two weeks ago. However, with free agency starting on Tuesday, I expect the Thunder to be very busy over the next two months, putting a roster together for the upcoming season.

Per ECHL Rules the Thunder can only offer qualifying offers to four veterans. A veteran is a player who has played more than 180 regular-season games. These veterans who are given qualifying offers have their rights owned by the team until July 16th, if they have still not signed they are able to sign with a different team. Restricted free agents can not be traded.

What The List Is Missing

As previously cited with the team’s protected list, I mentioned the one thing that’s evidently missing. Adirondack needs to find a true number one goaltender for next season, preferably one that is strictly on an ECHL contract so they don’t run into the same problems that they had with Evan Cormier. There is no question we saw some bright spots with Cormier, but when those bright spots would show themselves, the Bowmanville native would get the call up to Binghamton.

This would lead to McAdam playing multiple back-to-backs which may or may not have led to fatigue. Other than that, I would like to hope that we have a lot of the same group when the Thunder open up their season on the road in October. They will begin their home campaign on October 26th as they host a fellow North Division opponent in the Maine Mariners.
