The Adirondack Thunder made their first move in close to a month on Tuesday morning as they acquired the rights to right-wing/center Chase Lang from the Jacksonville Icemen in exchange for Ara Nazarian.
Thunder Add Help Up The Middle
Lang, 24-years-old, is listed at six-foot-one and 194 pounds. The native of Nanaimo, BC spent the past two-plus years in the ECHL. Over that time, he’s played with the Allen Americans, Rapid City Rush and Jacksonville Icemen.
Through 110 games, he’s recorded 78 points, having scored 30 goals along with 48 assists. He had a breakout season with Jacksonville last year, putting up 19 goals along with 29 assists for 48 points in 57 games. Adding Chase Lang to the roster fills a huge need for the Thunder up the middle while also adding more offensive help as well. He also has the ability to player on the wing if it’s needed.
In getting Lang, the Thunder gave up forward Ara Nazarian, who is coming off a solid rookie season with the team in Glens Falls. In 54 games, he put up 12 goals along with 20 assists which made for 32 points. Nazarian spent most of 2019-20 on the second and third lines, but was a streaky player for most of the season.
This move is a continuing sign from Adirondack that they are looking to get bigger next season. If this move proves to be as good as it looks on paper, the Thunder will have definitely been winners of the trade.
