With the sixth overall selection to the Detroit Red Wings, I have a very tall and strong center headed to the Motor City in Kirby Dach. Dach, 18, has silky mitts and quick hands and is an excellent passer as well. He is a good physical playmaker and is outstanding on the power play. Dach, who can be compared to Patric Hornqvist of the Pittsburgh Penguins, has the ability to crush the crease and is excellent in the dirty areas. He also comes set in stone with not only his size, but adds a super accurate snap shot as well.
Seventh overall to the Buffalo Sabres is Alexander Turcotte. This skater has an elite 200-foot game similar to that of Nico Hischier. Alike the Switzerland native, Turcotte is known to cradle the puck on his stick well while being able to read the puck is one of his better attributes on the ice. Turcotte is a clean passer with solid power and is also able to yield away from greasy goals. He is very shifty and cuts on a dime while he also possesses an excellent wrist shot.
Eighth overall, the Edmonton Oilers get a very solid player in Millis, MA native Matthew Boldy. Boldy, 18, is a player that is strong on his edges while his play includes a strong and quick shot as well.
Not only is he a smooth skater, but he is physical when and if needs be. Boldy also has a really nice backhanded shot that most Oilers fans would love to see. He is a very dynamic player who is likely to fall in the draft to Edmonton.
With the ninth overall selection, the Anaheim Ducks select Cole Caufield from the USNDTP. Caufield, 18, weighs in at 5’7 and is a fast and mobile sniper who carries a smooth puck on his stick as well. He behaves similar to Alex DeBrincat and is a guy any team wants on a top six line.
Going 10th overall to the Vancouver Canucks is 18-year-old centreman and Bedford native Trevor Zegras. Zegras is smart and supportive for a six-foot tall center with quick hands while he is a solid skater as well. One of his best attributes is his playmaking abilities as he is known to make creative passes while he creates dangerous scoring chances as well. Zegras is a strong forechecker and a magician with the puck, similar to Pavel Datsyuk, but more energy like a Matthew Barzal.
