Just in time for the start of the 2019-2020 regular season, the Colorado Avalanche have agreed to terms with their star winger Mikko Rantanen. Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic spoke with the Denver Post shortly thereafter.
In a statement with regards to the signing after the announcement was made official, Sakic said, “Signing Mikko to a long-term deal has been a priority and we are excited to have him under contract for the next six years. Mikko has established himself as one of the premier young wingers in the NHL and is a big part of our core group. We look forward to having him back with the team as we get ready to start the season.”
Avalanche right winger Mikko Rantanen is certainly in for a rather huge pay increase.
Is Mikko Rantanen worth every penny? Absolutely. He is a star in the making and the Avalanche certainly paid him as such. He earns the nine million per by the way his game has evolved into what it is today. He is an offensive juggernaut and he is just getting started.
Mikko Rantanen is special
What Mikko Rantanen can do with the puck, it’s really special. He can snipe from anywhere, deke and dangle and can handle the puck like no one can.
He is a pretty intricate part of the top line of hockey. According to Mile High Sticking “Altitude TV broadcast earlier this week, the big-three were compared to the most productive line in the modern era.”
Wow. The best line in hockey this year or all time in hockey is quite a jump for the Finnish forward. Hitting the all time greatest line list and being in the discussion means the Avalanche had to invest in the Mikko Rantanen business long-term for the chance of winning the Stanley Cup.
