After having made just a minor transaction at the 2019 NHL Trade Deadline, the Arizona Coyotes locked up one of their own on Wednesday afternoon, signing right-winger Conor Garland to a two-year contract extension.
The agreement was made official through a club announcement from the Coyotes while Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.ca was next to add further detail to it, noting that Garland would receive an AAV of $775K.
The two-year deal is set to take Garland through the conclusion of the 2021-22 regular season, meanwhile, it is set to kick in at the beginning of the 2019-20 regular season.
In taking a look at Conor Garland, the 22-year-old native of Scituate, Massachusetts has scored 12 goals and 3 assists, making for 15 points registered in 36 games played. He also adds 10 penalty minutes and a Plus/Minus rating of 3 to his resume.

Garland was originally selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the fifth round (123rd overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Since then, he has seen time playing with the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL before eventually making his NHL debut at the beginning of the 2018-19 regular season.
Following his four-year tenure with the Wildcats in New Brunswick, Garland joined the Tucson Roadrunners of the American Hockey League where he added 19 points in 18 games before making his NHL debut in December.
In a statement from general manager John Chayka with regards to the deal, he said, “Conor has come onto our team and made an impact through his work ethic and willingness to get to the net and score goals. He’s a great success story for our organization as a later round pick and the development process he went through to get here. We’re thrilled to get him signed long-term.”
Following their 4-3 win over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night, the Arizona Coyotes return to action on Thursday night at Gila River Arena as they play host to the Vancouver Canucks at 9:00pmET.
