On Thursday November 5th, the Utah Grizzlies announced the signing of Canadian centreman Cedric Pare. The two sides agreed to terms on a standard player contract for the upcoming season.
Pare joins the Utah Grizzlies after spending four seasons in the QMJHL. Most recently, from 2018-2020, the forward competed with the Rimouski Oceanic. During the two seasons he spent there, Pare tallied 137 points, scoring 54 goals along with 83 assists. He did so in 132 games.
During the 2019-20 season, Pare, who was named as an alternate, was seventh in goals, having tallied 37. He was also fifth in assists with 51 and sixth in points, racking up 88. With the Saint John Sea Dogs, who he spent time with from 2016-2018, Pare amassed 18 goals along with 36 assists which made for 54 points. He did so in 129 games.
Pare was also a key player in the hockey club’s playoff run in 2017. En route to the championship, he played 18 games, having tallied one goal along with two assists. Following the season, he was selected by the Bruins 173rd overall in the draft’s sixth round. Pare’s younger brother, Felix, is currently a member of the Victoriaville Tigres.
